Sami is a town and its population is nearly 1000. It is the main port of Kefalonia and a major commercial and tourist center. In the area there are many attractions, while the beach of the city collects all the nightlife of the Sami. The ancient city was located more north of the new city nowdays while the remains of the region are exposed in the Archaeological Museum of Argostoli.
